Our grantees are generating cutting-edge research, creating innovative programs, and advancing the field for Jews of Color. This page shares some of the current opportunities to engage with their work, such as participating in research studies.
Shades of Belonging: Research on Jewish Adoptees of Color
Existing knowledge about Jewish adoptees of Color is limited. This study seeks to amplify JoC adoptee voices to make our experiences known and to create more inclusive Jewish communities. Participate in a 10-15 minute anonymous survey and choose if you’d like to be considered for a 30-45 minute confidential interview. This research is conducted by Latinx-Jewish adoptee and researcher, Dr. David McCarty-Caplan. Sign up to participate at bit.ly/ShadesOfBelonging. You can contact Dr. McCarty-Caplan at david@jewtina.org or (818)-835-1024.
End-of-Life Practices & Rituals Research Project
You are invited to share your experiences as part of a ground-breaking research project. For the first time ever, a survey is being fielded to learn how Jewish people of color (JoC) engage with Jewish end-of-life rituals and practices, including Chevrei Kadisha, funerals, burials, grief, and mourning rituals, and what resources are most needed and desired to provide comfort and support. Join us to shape how we better reflect the diversity of the #JewishCommunity. Learn more and complete the survey at: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/eol-joc
