Location: Remote Preference for Greater NYC or Greater San Francisco Areas

About Us: A Wider Bridge (AWB) builds meaningful engagement between Israeli and North American LGBTQ communities. Through education, programming, missions, advocacy, relationship building and grantmaking, AWB works to combat antisemitism and advance LGBTQ inclusion in Israel society. We provide LGBTQ leaders, influencers, and allies – both Jews and non-Jews – with opportunities to connect with Israel’s vibrant LGBTQ communities and the democratic Jewish State.

 

Position Overview: Reporting to the Executive Director, this position is responsible for working with leadership to manage and grow revenue of 1.5M from both individuals and institutions. In addition to driving the development strategic planning process, will plan and execute fundraising events and parlor meetings, manage all stages of moves management for individual contributors, support the Executive Director with the institutional portfolio, coordinate with communications on direct mail and e-philanthropy, and oversee the relevant data management activities.

 

Key Responsibilities:

Development Strategy & Oversight

Develop and implement the annual multi-tiered campaign plan focused on growing both dollars and donors while diversifying revenue streams.

Provide subject matter expertise to all involved in AWB’s fundraising efforts.

Partner with leadership to cultivate future organizational leaders.

Major Gifts Prospect, steward and solicit major individual gifts in the Gesher Society (AWB club membership levels).

Recruit and steward major donor society prospects and members for A Wider Bridge Israel Missions.

Develop long-term growth plans for high-level supporters, including multiyear gifts and planned giving.

 

Fundraising Events

Plan and execute fundraising events meeting attendance and financial goals with strong execution and exceptional donor relations.

Events may include: a few annual events of a larger scale (e.g., New York, San Francisco); several parlor meetings and house parties across the U.S. to raise funds and introduce A Wider Bridge to new potential supporters; and a National Virtual Celebration. a streaming-only program showcasing AWB activities and offering virtual interactive spaces, such as a journal room for donors.

 

Foundations

In partnership with the Executive Director, cultivate relationships with new and existing institutional funders to expand our foundation support. Support the process of preparing and submitting grant applications, reports, and letters of inquiry, and maintain the organization’s grant deadline calendar. General Campaign Partner with the Communications Director to implement successful ephilanthropy and direct mail campaigns.

 

Development Operations

Oversee AWB’s CRM system to ensure strong tracking, prospecting and data collection mechanisms are in place and staff are properly utilizing the software. Oversee the Office Manager’s day-to-day fundraising operations responsibilities to ensure that pledges and payments are accurately acknowledged, lists and reports are managed, and prospect research is robust.

 

Community Relations

In partnership with programs and development staff, develop and cultivate new and existing partnerships in the LGBTQ, pro-Israel, and Jewish communities. Represent AWB in the community through speaking engagements, trainings, and panel discussions and attend partner community events.

 

Qualifications

Minimum of 5 years of relevant, proven fundraising experience, including involvement in the LGBTQ, Jewish and/or pro-Israel fields Demonstrated knowledge of best practices in fundraising, including prospect research, solicitation, and stewardship. Proven track record as a solicitor with the capacity to close four and five-figure gifts. Prior experience planning & implementing donor events Proven ability to thrive in an entrepreneurial, collaborative, and high-growth environment Excellent public speaking and written communications skills Experience with donor database management software Ability to travel (approximately 15%) to various U.S.-based locations as well as Israel & elsewhere Ability to work occasional evenings and weekend hours to attend relevant events/programs

Location: this is a home-based position (with a preference for either Greater NYC or Greater San Francisco areas)

Salary Range: $125K to $150K; commensurate with experience Benefits offered: medical, dental, vision, life, short-term disability, 3 weeks paid vacation, sick leave, national & Jewish holidays.
