This project was developed by Rose Espinola with the support of a research grant from the Jews of Color Initiative to collect oral histories about customs, practices, traditions, rituals, and spirituality among Jews of Color in the United States during pregnancy, birth, abortion, pregnancy loss, and postpartum.
One of the central goals of this project is to grow historical and contemporary records that future Jews of Color can adapt for their own spiritual resiliency. Though it initially began as a research project, Espinola envisions the project as a space for Jews of Color to build community with one another, and welcomes new ideas and feedback.
The research that spurred this project was conducted with guidance from faculty advisor Samira Mehta of the University of Colorado.
