Accepting Grant Proposals for Two Requests for Proposals
Within approximately a month’s time, the Jews of Color Initiative has proudly announced two Requests for Proposals (RFPs) for grant funding. Designed to serve the JoC community in unique ways, each RFP has its own intentions and purpose.
“Developing and Deploying Jewish Leaders of Color” was the first of these two RFPs, released October 5, 2020. This RFP was created to help institutions provide the necessary structural support to leaders who are Jews of Color. This RFP is for organizations that are either a 501(c)(3) or have fiscal sponsorship and are engaging in a pilot program, an early-stage program, or a successful existing effort that needs additional support. Our second RFP, “Empowering and Engaging Jews of Color in the East Bay,” was announced on November 2, 2020 at the conclusion of our educational and action-planning event featured in this issue’s JoCI In Session article. This RFP was tailored specifically to meet the needs of the San Francisco Bay Area’s East Bay Jewish community. Grants will be awarded to 501(c)(3) or fiscally sponsored institutions in the East Bay for pilot or early-stage programs that foster anti-racist and inclusive environments to support the multiracial Jewish community of the region.
