Help us give Galim an even stronger second year. Take our brief 5-question survey!

In September 2020, the Jews of Color Initiative launched our monthly newsletter, Galim. The JoCI was only a few years old and needed to communicate what we do, how we do it, and why it matters to the community. We also wanted to tell the stories and highlight the relationships and connections that are behind each grantee, research study, and more. Over a year later, we’re reflecting on the intentions of this newsletter and how to cater to our 2,700+ readers—and we want your input!

Our newsletter is designed to capture stories on our three major areas of focus: grantmaking, research, and community education. We break this down into a few different sections in the newsletter:

  • Grants on the Ground captures the rich stories behind our grantmaking while amplifying the voices of JoC leaders who run innovative programming in the community.
  • JoCI In Session shows how we help shift our communal paradigm around racism and Jews of Color. Stories in this section capture community events, presentations, panel discussions, podcasts, and antiracist education in the community.
  • Research Recap keeps you informed about the findings of our major research studies and how JoCI leadership and other communal leaders reflect on how our research shapes the field.

Each newsletter includes one story in each of these sections, keeping you up-to-date on the happenings and wonders at the JoCI.

As we further develop our newsletter, we want to know more about how you connect with our content and what might make Galim even stronger. Click the button below (or above) to take our 5-question survey—it will only take 1 or 2 minutes to complete!

Thank you, readers!
